Sanéqui Non-Obesitas.jpgSanéqui NON-OBESITAS for weightloss

Sanéqui Non-obesitas is a special formula for horses and pony’s with overweight that will help to reduce weight in a responsible way. The intake of dietary energy is more then the energy used by work for many horses and pony’s. In the end this situation leads to obesitas. Research showed that pony’s with obesitas are at risk to get laminitis. And that overweight can lead to insulin resistance. Health and welfare of your horse are the right justification to combat overweight.
To reduce weight the energy intake must be lower than the energy requirement. To achieve this you can either feed less energy or increase the workload. Doing both has the highest impact and best results. Exercising horses not only use more energy while working, also during the rest of the day they burn more energy than horses at rest. Horses at rest use their energy very economical, weightloss will take a lot of time and patience. To reduce weight can take a prolonged period of time, but the result is an active and vital horse.

Composition
Sanéqui Non-obesitas is a fibre and protein-rich special diet containing high levels of vitamins, minerals and trace elements in optimum proportions. Combined with a limited quantity of mature grass hay, it provides a complete diet for healthy weight loss in horses. A weight-reducing diet is a low energy diet. But this diet may not lead to a deficit of vitamins, minerals or trace elements nor to a loss of muscle mass. To balance the total ration and to prevent the breakdown of muscle proteins Sanéqui Non-obesitas contains a high level of a high quality protein as well as high levels of vitamins, minerals and trace elements to meet the requirements of the horse.

Sanéqui Non-obesitas contains alfalfameal, oat chaff and pretreated soybeans. Alfalfa and soybeans are sources of high quality proteins. Oat chaff is a high fibre feedstuff. Extra long fibers are added with coarse, unrefined alfalfa. The amount of starch and sugars is low. For palatability a small amount of sweetener is added (Sucram©).

Feeding schedule
Feed Sanéqui Non-obesitas together with mature grass hay and straw according to the feeding schedule. If the level of feed intake is too high a horse will not loose weight. Calculate the right amounts of feedstuffs using the target weight of your horse. Then the total diet will contain about 65-80% of the energy requirement of the horse, while the levels of protein and all essential nutrients are at least 100%.

Together with your vet you can estimate the target weight of your horse based upon wither height and breed. It will take a long period of time to achieve this target weight. In between arrange meetings with your veterinarian to check the horse and the feeding schedule.
